Thanks! I prioritise my audio for all of my videos and have continued to develop my technique when filming and editing, so I always appreciate it when it’s noticed!
Kind of sad this series is over. Malta was one of the few places I really wanted to visit while we were living in Europe, and now we have left, I doubt we will ever get there. So watching your series has been a vicarious visit for me. It was quite delightful--all of it. Thanks.
Hello Joe, and hello Elly, I love the opening of this just the sound of birds, and the great Joe Allam, , It a kind of place were the shots and side allys come into view, and you see the shot before you, and a great way of exploring a little inner self, I get the cars and building, have to adapt, oh thats some side track. Wow the cave and those cliff yep works for me, silky smooth waves, and a little moment, you always make my evening, well done guys, pure joy, thank you.
Joe, the colors you are getting now out of your R5 are now pristine! Looks so good! Also love how you always include a shot of you playing with the fuji in there, and this time at the cafe on the table backlit was such a great shot. 😍
Cheers! I’ve been tweaking and developing a conversion LUT for C-Log3 ever since it was available on the R5 way back in the Spring. I think it’s just about where I want it to be now and I’m pretty happy with it!
Another beautiful video. I am wondering why you never talk about using a polarizer in bright sunlight. I second the suggestion about wearing a cap. However, the brim gets in the way when you use the view finder. Try turning it around.
Thanks! In all honesty, I don’t actually use filters often, except for the variable ND for video use. With my Fujis in particular, I think one of the things that’s put me off has been the very small filter thread of most of the lenses, which means either having a cumbersome step-down ring or purchasing multiple small filters (of which I haven’t experimented with a brand I favour yet). I do think about it every so often, but I’ve just never found myself desperate for one. Maybe one day…
Joe. Have you ever visited Tbilisi in Georgia. You would love the vibe of street photography in Tbilisi. And the rest of the country is fab too. A real undiscovered photographers dreamland.
I haven’t! Funnily enough, I actually saw some airline sales to Tbilisi just yesterday. It looks very lively with character, for sure! Will keep it on my radar… cheers
Jelly Journeys? Wrong intro title graphics? Great video. Have actually been looking for Malta holiday deals over christmas but is holding back bc of being to scared if new travel restrictions is coming while being away.
Haha, not quite! Decided to keep the title for consistency of the rest of the series and also technically still the same setup 😏 I hear ya about travel changing quickly. Seems as though booking last minute when you know things are good is the best option right now, but then there’s rapid stress about learning all of the requirements.
Gozo is a fab place, visited many times but last time was 2011. Sad about the Azure Window (arch) collapsing a few years ago. I think that was the stump at 08:54.
Ah yes, I was told of that, although I think it was actually behind the camera from this view, because our boat driver had some comments about an arch collapsing near where we were. His English was quite limited though, so I can only guess he was talking about the same thing!
I wear a cap most days, but struggle equally as much with the peak when using the viewfinder with mic attached or when doing vertical photos 🙄 Can’t win!
Oh wow, that’s even more of a struggle. At lease the viewfinder could possibly be adjusted to your prescription, although that doesn’t help much if you need to use the screen…
The mic's quality is amazing. Joe's voice is so clear!

This gave me relaxed vibe to watch
Cheers! I love chill pacing to vlogs

I still have a house in Gozo.. it’s like a trip back in time and my preference over Malta… lots to photograph

So beautiful! Gozo was my home for almost three years:) Miss it dearly... Such an idyllic vibe!
That´s when the x-pro-cameras comes in handy, when using sunglasses with the optical viewfinder.

@@joeallam yup! Looking really good ;)
7:27 great shot
Great video as always! Re the bright sunlight, perhaps a cap and a range finder.... Say a X Pro3?? ;)
Maybe I missed it, did you get rid of x100f?

@@joeallam Flights to Tbilisi can be expensive and not direct. But cheap when you get there.
@@joeallam Georgia is truly great. I visited back in 2013 and had the best photo ops.
Wow...nice video my friend..bravo 👍👍

I managed to see and photograph the Azure Window back in 2014.
I believe that it collapsed during a storm around 3yrs later 😔
Hey Joe! New subscriber here. Love your work. If ever you're back in Manila please do let me know. I'd love to show you around!
Have you gone to any of the megalithic sites in Malta yet?
12:10 You muppet.
Just put on a cap! Ruins the hair but it works better than sunglasses!

Same problem with me but added frustration of being short sighted so wear glasses 🤓 so frustrating 🤷♂️
